“This photo was taken at my mom’s and dad’s wedding on January 20, 1957. The picture is of my mom and her parents and 2 brothers. Sadly, her father died of a sudden heart attack shortly after her wedding. My mother told me that this is the only picture she has of her immediate family. After over 50 years of marriage, my dad passed nine years ago and one of the brothers in the picture is also gone. The other still lives nearby.
My mom turned 82 last week and she is in an assisted living facility so pictures and memories mean SO much to her now. Because of COVID, there are a lot of restrictions on the residents and since we can’t be together physically, anything I can do that brings a smile to her is what I am doing.”
